To keep a record of changes in my office, I wrote the first post about it in January 2022 and carried on with an update in 2023. Let’s continue the tradition for 2024.

It’s been difficult to receive notifications of Disqus comments on any posts on the blog. As a result the majority of comments went unanswered. I was disappointed that people took the time to leave comments, and I never answered because I didn’t know about it!
Recently I was reading a blog post on Async / Await feature of Rust. Getting to the bottom of the post, I noticed the comments section was using giscus. Giscus uses GitHub Discussions for it’s commenting, and is heavily inspired by another project I looked at a little while ago, utterances. Utterances uses GitHub Issues to store and retrieve comments but I didn’t feel that this was a good solution for the blog comments. But giscus, using GitHub Discussions, is something I want to use and I’ve now implemented it on the site.

Heading to PackagingCon 2023 in Berlin!

Reflecting on an amazing PSConfEU 2023!
I’m back from an incredible 4 days at PSConfEU 2023 and wanted to share some highlights of my experience. This was my sixth time attending PSConfEU, and it exceeded all expectations!
PowerShell enthusiasts gathered in Prague for 4 packed days of learning and networking. The speaker line-up was loaded with PowerShell legends like Jeffrey Hicks, Rob Sewell, Bruce Payette and many more. I was honoured to present among this all-star group.
My talks - “WinGet and Chocolatey: A Real-World Look at Package Management Tools” and “WinRM vs. OpenSSH: A Showdown for PowerShell Remoting” - were both well-attended and received great feedback. Attendees appreciated the unbiased, side-by-side comparisons of key technologies.

Chocolatey Software Proudly Sponsors PSConfEU 2023!

I’m just returning from an incredible experience presenting at PSDayUK 2023 this past Friday. My colleague James Ruskin and I had the honour of giving a talk titled “Streamlining Software Management with Chocolatey” to a room of PowerShell enthusiasts.
Overall, I’m thrilled to say our presentation went extremely well!

I’m excited to announce that I will be speaking at PSDayUK on Friday, March 3rd 2023! My colleague James Ruskin and I will be giving a talk titled “Streamlining Software Management with Chocolatey.”

Chocolatey recently released a new version of the Package Moderation Services sandbox, and it got me thinking. How can I use it in VMware Workstation?
I don’t use VirtualBox, but I wanted to use the box that they created. So, I decided to look into converting the Vagrant VirtualBox box for use in VMware Workstation and Fusion and thus, this guide was born!
