Reflecting on an amazing PSConfEU 2023!
I’m back from an incredible 4 days at PSConfEU 2023 and wanted to share some highlights of my experience. This was my sixth time attending PSConfEU, and it exceeded all expectations!
PowerShell enthusiasts gathered in Prague for 4 packed days of learning and networking. The speaker line-up was loaded with PowerShell legends like Jeffrey Hicks, Rob Sewell, Bruce Payette and many more. I was honoured to present among this all-star group.
My talks - “WinGet and Chocolatey: A Real-World Look at Package Management Tools” and “WinRM vs. OpenSSH: A Showdown for PowerShell Remoting” - were both well-attended and received great feedback. Attendees appreciated the unbiased, side-by-side comparisons of key technologies.

Heading to PSConfEU 2023 in Prague!
I’m just returning from an incredible experience presenting at PSDayUK 2023 this past Friday. My colleague James Ruskin and I had the honour of giving a talk titled “Streamlining Software Management with Chocolatey” to a room of PowerShell enthusiasts.
Overall, I’m thrilled to say our presentation went extremely well!
I’m excited to announce that I will be speaking at PSDayUK on Friday, March 3rd 2023! My colleague James Ruskin and I will be giving a talk titled “Streamlining Software Management with Chocolatey.”
Chocolatey recently released a new version of the Package Moderation Services sandbox, and it got me thinking. How can I use it in VMware Workstation?
I don’t use VirtualBox, but I wanted to use the box that they created. So, I decided to look into converting the Vagrant VirtualBox box for use in VMware Workstation and Fusion and thus, this guide was born!
To keep a record of changes in my office, I wrote the first post about my office setup in January 2022. It’s now 2023 (Happy New Year!) and that means an update!
I need a new way to keep control of my ever-growing, ever-sprawling, e-book collection. Local files and folders has got me to a stage where it’s getting kinda messy and difficult to manage. Calibre seems to be the only show in town for managing, converting and keeping track of all of your e-books. So I thought I’d give it a try.
First step is first; installing the desktop application on my computer using Chocolatey choco install calibre
. I then ran the application which started the configuration wizard, but the first page stopped me.
